* Hampton, 19 Nov: Third complaint

(21086) Complaint about noise disturbance from a top floor flat on Hampton Road on 19 November 2021. This is the third complaint in a series.

Having previously complained to UoB, the complainant says: "A further party took place at Top Floor Flat, [xx] Hampton Road on Friday night (19/11/2021). There was a large group of people gathered on the balcony from just before10.00pm to 11.10pm, with loud bass music. As the balcony is directly opposite my bedroom I was unable to sleep until the noise stopped, even with our windows closed."

A second resident also reported to UoB that he had contacted Operation Beech about this event. He cites "Loud bass music, lots of people coming and going, and they have been shouting from their balcony, which overlooks the main road ...."

The first resident had previously complained about "a large group gathered on the balcony" of the same flat on Friday, 12 Oct 2021 at 11.50pm. "We were woken up by shouting and shrieking coming from the balcony. I got out of bed and went across the road to speak to the students to make them aware we had been disturbed. As I was waiting for the door to be answered a group of around 8 lads walked past and a large exchange of shouting between people on the balcony and people in the street took place ... The door was answered by a group of 3 who subsequently phoned the people on the balcony to make them aware of a noise complaint and the noise stopped shortly after. They acknowledged that the noise wasn't good but protested that the balcony forms part of their property. I explained that whilst it might form part of the property the noise carries across the road and causes disturbance to other people in the neighbourhood."
