* Warwick, 8 July: '3am request for quiet'
(S011) Two residents have reported frequent disturbance from a student house in Warwick Road on various dates before and after the change of tenants at the end of June.
One of the residents has submitted a complaint to UoB in which he says the nine-bedroom property has been a frequent source of disturbance in recent years.
After leaving the house at the start of lockdown, students returned some weeks later. "Then followed nightly gatherings/parties in the garden with very noxious bonfires and a constant voluble disturbance late into the night. I asked them directly to stop on a couple of occasions and though met with polite apologies nothing changed and we had to suffer a bigger and louder party near the end of their tenancy on 30 June."
Like other residents in the area, they hoped for a summer respite, but on 5 July a large group of male undergraduates moved in and "large gatherings in the garden immediately started, with large fires lit, which went into the early hours .....
"My wife, who is a key worker, had to ask them to go back inside on 6 July as the noise is keeping people awake. The night of 7 July, particularly between the hours of 2am and 3am, there was constant noisy flow of people entering and leaving the property which forced me at 3am to directly request they go back into the house."

The second resident wrote in an email to me that she had tried to establish friendly relations with the students, to no effect. "Despite my friendly and open approach to the new students in [x] Warwick Road, and despite their promises they kept us awake until 3am last night, when my next-door neighbour intervened and asked them to stop. They only arrived last Sunday and have managed to keep us awake every single night!"
